About Jon Blend

I am a UKCP and ECP-registered adult, child and adolescent psychotherapist. I have 40 years’ experience of working with emotionally distressed people including 15 years’ clinical experience of working with children and adolescents in an NHS Family Consultation Service. I currently work in private practice in West London, offering psychotherapy to adults, children & adolescents. I also see families and offer parenting support. I work face-to-face and online as a trainer (UK and internationally) and offer clinical supervision. I am also a Lifemusic practitioner, London Playback Theatre musician and a faculty member (Wellbeing Diploma) at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), London.

Qualifications

I hold a degree in occupational psychology, and postgraduate diplomas in child and adolescent psychotherapy, counselling and social work. I also hold a Masters degree in group and individual adult psychotherapy. I also hold postgraduate certificates in community musicianship, Lifemusic practice and supervision.

UKCP

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is the UK’s leading professional body for the education, training and accreditation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors.

UKAGP

The United Kingdom Association for Gestalt Practitioners (UKAGP) is the umbrella association for Gestalt therapists in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. UKAGP represents interests of British therapists in the European Association for Gestalt Therapy (EAGT).

IAAGT

The International Association for Advancement in Gestalt Therapy (IAAGT) is a community of Gestalt therapists working together to develop Gestalt research, theory and practice. I have been an active member of this organisation since 1999.

NYIGT

The New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy is the original Gestalt therapy institute, established by Fritz And Laura Perls In 1952.
